Disturbing scenes as woman eaten by her 20 beloved cats after collapsing at home

This Morning: Woman explains how she got her dead cat cloned

A woman’s body was eaten by her 20 pedigree cats after she collapsed at home.

The cat breeder was tragically found partially eaten by her beloved Maine coon felines two weeks after her death.

Emergency services were alerted only after an employee was unable to get in touch with her.

Police found her lifeless body surrounded by the animals in her Bataysk, Russia home in June last year.

Maine coon cats are normally referred to as ‘gentle giants’ as they are known for their passive natures.

However, an expert says the cats had to find means to survive, however gruesome the outcome was.

According to a rescue group, a number of the cats were found in an unhealthy state and they are trying to fundraise to look after them.

The healthier ones were sold to new owners for around $40.

But it is not known if their owners were made aware of the cats’ past.

An animal rescue expert who cared for some of the surviving cats said: “The cats were left alone on their own for two weeks, there was no food, so what else to eat?

“It’s understandable right? They ate what there was.”
